Hi Michelle,
I love the way you display the covers of the books you enjoyed. I wonder, have you ever held onto a book (didn’t pass it along to a girlfriend or the library donation box) simply because you adored the cover so much? I have a friend who decorates with books. She has many shelves facing out into a room so that she can display her book covers (mostly Japanese titles) and it looks stunning. All the same, I have a hard time haording books so I tend to pass them along, even those with gorgeous covers.

If you liked Anne of Green Gables, I heartily recommend a new book that I have just read titled Before Green Gables and written by Budge Wilson, a respected Canadian writer. It is considered a prequel to Anne of Green Gables, telling Anne’s life story from birth to the time Matthew picks her up from the train station and takes her to Green Gables. It was a fascinating read and I felt that Budge Wilson kept both the story line and the writing style similar to the original Anne books by Montgomery. I hope you like it!!!

I have never been able to finish Life of Pi, although so many people I know love it. It was just too weird for me. I loved Water For Elephants (especially the ending), and I’m anxious to try Lahiri’s newest work. I adored Interpreter of Maladaies and The Namesake by her. I like how you’ve organized your readings by month here; it’s very clear and succinct (rather than some of the lengthy, complicated methods I’ve seen elsewhere). You inpsire me to try the same.
