Decades ‘09

decades09boldsmall.PNGDid you participate in the By the Decade Challenge last year? Would you like to again? Or, if you didn’t take part in 2008, are you interested in doing so in 2009? We’d love to have you join us!

Decades ‘09 Rules:

  1. Read a minimum of 9 books in 9 consecutive decades in ‘09.
  2. Books published in the 2000’s do not count.
  3. Titles may be cross-posted with any other challenge.
  4. You may change your list at any time.
  5. Peruse the eligible book lists and reviews from 2008 or 2007. Any book from that decade is eligible; it doesn’t have to be on the list to qualify. A good source to find out when books were published is wikipedia. For example if you follow this link, you will see how easy it is to search books by a particular decade. Another resource is fantasticfiction.co.uk.
  6. Sign up through Mr. Linky below. Please use the url of your specific post for this challenge rather than just your blog url.
  7. Come back and post the links to your reviews into Mr. Linky.  Look to the right under categories to find the links to the various decades. You don’t have to, but you are encouraged to post all the books you’ve read for that decade if you’re participating in Decades ‘09.
  8. Have fun reading your Decades ‘09 books, and have a great year!

Michelle - Could you please remove #2? I accidentally posted to my entire blog and not a specific link.

Instruction #7 says to sign up with the Mr. Linky, but there isn’t one? I thought there was the last time I came to this site, but I’ve been considering joining for 2009 and don’t see where to sign up. Help, please! :)

Hi - I signed up (#17 up there in Mr. Linky) but don’t see my name on the participant’s list. I just signed up a second time with the link to my blog post about challenges. Maybe that’s why I wasn’t on the list, first signup was linked to my general blog.
    Thanks! I’m starting now!

I saw Joanne’s list from lostinagoodstory and found several that I want to read. This should be fun and interesting. Thanks!

    Hi!
I’m not quite sure how to post my books that I have read for this challenge. Do we post them one at a time or wait until we have read them all?

    Sherrie

I’m also ready to share my posts of the books I’ve read for this challenge. This is my first year to participate so I’m not sure of the process. Help?

I have the same question as Sherrie. I’ve read my first book for this challenge - are we supposed to post them somewhere or just wait until we’ve read all of them? Thanks!

Hi! Now that I’ve finished this challenge, where should I leave the completion link? I tried going to the completion category, but it didn’t have a linky set up for ‘09.

The 2009 Mr. Linkys seem to be down (probably due to the general brokenness of Mr. Linky right now), so I’m checking in with a 1950s review: Flannery O’Connor’s A Good Man is Hard to Find.
